About Me

Dominic patera-

I’ve been part of the gym community for as long as I can remember. Growing up, fitness wasn’t just a hobby — it was part of my everyday life. I learned early on how important proper form, consistency, and safe training habits are, especially for beginners who are just starting their journey.

During high school, I took my passion further by enrolling in the Westshore Career-Tech program, where I studied to become a Certified Personal Trainer. That experience introduced me to the science behind training — biomechanics, injury prevention, program design, and the fundamentals of strength and conditioning. It also showed me how much misinformation exists online, and how easily beginners can get hurt when they rely on influencers instead of real, evidence‑based instruction.

Now in college, I’m continuing to advance my education in the exercise science field, building on what I learned at Westshore. My goal is to help people train safely, understand their bodies, and build long‑term habits that actually work. Whether I’m studying, training, or helping others in the gym, I stay committed to the values that shaped me: proper form, smart programming, and evidence‑based coaching.
